A funeral parlour in Malaysia has gone viral for their tongue-in-cheek advisory on the Covid-19 situation.
In a Facebook post on Mar. 19, Nirvana Asia said, "Stay at home or stay at Nirvana."
"Nirvana" here likely refers to the burial plots and columbariums that the company owns.
In their caption, Nirvana the everyday person has a part to play in preventing the spread of the virus.
According to The Star, Nirvana Asia Group founder Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong acknowledged that the post was "borderline controversial”.
However, Kong wished to remind people in a straightforward manner, so that they would not ignore the seriousness of the issue.
“With a lot of fake news around, we’re hoping the public will probably find it easier to accept and share the message to their loved ones with a sense of humour,” he added.
Kong also hopes that the Malaysian government will be stricter in penalising those who flout the order, The Star reports.
