On Mar. 4, the Ministry of Health announced two new cases of the Covid-19 infection.

Among them was a non-teaching staff at Creative O Preschoolers’ Bay (Case 112), a preschool in Jurong.

It was later revealed in a statement by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) that the staff was an assistant cook at the preschool.

She had felt unwell a few hours into her shift on Feb. 21, and promptly saw a doctor.

She has not returned to the school since.

The school will be closed from Mar. 5 to 6, and will resume programmes next Monday, Mar. 9.

In the meantime, thorough cleaning and disinfection will be carried out, in addition to the preventive measures already in place.

In response to queries by Mothership, the principal of Creative O Preschoolers’ Bay, Tan Beng Luan, said that the school had already been disinfected on Feb. 29 as part of their ongoing precautionary measures.

Another round of cleaning is scheduled for Mar. 7.

Parents and staff were informed as soon as the school received confirmation, she adds.
