The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed five new cases of Covid-19 patients in Singapore on Thursday (Mar. 5), with a new cluster identified from a dinner event at SAFRA Jurong at 333 Boon Lay Way.
This brings the total number of cases to 117.
Meanwhile, two patients (Cases 71 and 98) have been discharged from the hospital.
Case 71 is a 25-year-old Singaporean who is linked to the Grace Assembly of God church cluster. Case 98 is a 24-year-old Singapore PR from the WizLearn cluster.
In all, 81 have fully recovered from Covid-19 and have been discharged from the hospital. 36 remain hospitalised, and seven are still in intensive care.
Contact tracing is also underway to establish links between previous cases or travel history to affected countries or regions.
Case 113
Case 113 is an imported case involving a 42-year-old male French national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder.
He has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions but had been in France, Portugal and the UK between Feb. 8 and Mar. 3.
He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
He reported onset of symptoms on Mar. 3 during his flight on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to Singapore and presented at NCID on Mar. 4.
Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on March 4 afternoon.
Prior to hospital admission, he had visited Gleneagles Hospital for an unrelated matter. He stays in the Mount Sophia area.
Case 114
Case 114 is a 62-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
He is warded in an isolation room at the National University Hospital (NUH).
He is a family member of Case 115, and is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 28 and had sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on Feb. 29.
He presented at the emergency department at NUH on Mar. 3. Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on the afternoon of Mar. 4.
Prior to hospital admission, he had mostly stayed at his home in the Westwood Avenue area.
Case 115
Case 115 is a 62-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Mar. 5 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NUH.
She is a family member of Case 114, and is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
Case 116
Case 116 is a 50-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Mar. 5 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
She is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
Case 117
Case 117 is a 52-year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions but had been in Malaysia on Mar. 1.
She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Mar. 5 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
She is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
