More stringent measures in place to kick in over next two days

The rise in number of imported Singapore resident cases has prompted the government to announce that it will not provide subsidised Covid-19 treatment to Singapore residents and Long Term Pass holders if they leave Singapore from Friday (Mar. 27).

The government has also imposed more stringent containment measures such as the closing of entertainment venues, tuition and enrichment centres, as well as the suspension of organised tours in public venues.

These measures will kick in on Thursday (Mar. 26).

Singaporeans have also been advised avoid events with over 10 people.

This applies to private events like birthdays and weddings, public venues like malls, museums and attractions, places of worship and group dining at food and beverage outlets.
