It recently gained traction thanks to a Facebook post that went viral.Sonny Liew also wrote a post on the iconic shop when it first reopened after renovations.

The shop owner, Liu Wei Kun, however has been selling comic books for a while now.

In fact, he's been selling comic books for over 50 years now.

In an interview with Zaobao earlier last year, Liu told the paper that he had been doing this for over 50 years, first starting out at Katong.

Some of the books on offer are really rare, and could easily fetch a higher price in the open market. Despite that knowledge, Liu is adamant on selling them at a fixed rate.

When Mothership visited his shop last year, he told us that while he couldn't read English, he did this to make ends meet.

According to the Zaobao report, the man has raised his five children over the years by selling comic books.

Respect.
