A teenage student from Leeds, England, was sent home after he was caught selling shots of hand sanitiser to other students in school.
Sells hand sanitiser in school, makes £9
The boy, Oliver Cooper, a student at Dixon's Unity Academy, was found charging his fellow students 50 pence (S$0.90) per pump with a bottle of hand sanitiser, which he bought from a Tesco supermarket for £1.60 (S$2.90), according to Dailymail.
His mother, Jenny Tompkins, shared her son's entrepreneurial exploits in a Facebook post, calling Cooper a "little turd".
Tompkins added in her post that the enterprising teenager bought himself a bag of Doritos chips and saved up the rest for a kebab later.
"All I can listen to is the radio. They've been going on about the coronavirus and how important hand sanitiser and washing your hands is," Cooper told Dailymail.
"So before the bus came, I bought a tub of hand wash from Tesco and offered to it my mates. They gave me the idea that I could charge for it, so I did."
One-day isolation & two-hour detention for breaching school rules
However, Cooper's actions did come with some consequences from his school.
The student faces a one-day isolation, followed by a two-hour detention for allegedly breaching school rules.
While his mother has tried to discipline her son for his little exploit, her husband, Cooper's stepfather, praised him for being "a f***ing legend".
