Man, 30, arrested for setting fire outside Boon Keng police post late at night

No injuries or casualties have been reported. Investigations are ongoing.

A massive fire outside the neighbourhood police post at Block 105 Towner Road on March 13 at around 11pm has led to one man's arrest.

Various videos and photos widely-circulated online showed the fire at Boon Keng engulfing the void deck of a HDB block of flats.

One video also showed massive flames followed by an explosion.

Many residents were alerted to the loud sound and the burning smell and some onlookers gathered at the ground level.

Photos also showed that the Singapore Civil Defence Force and police were on the ground attending to the case.

Firefighters were seen putting out the fire and a man appeared to have been arrested by the police at the scene.

There as also graffiti allegedly scrawled on the walls, one of which said "ISIS":

In response to Mothership's query, the police confirmed that they were alerted to the case of fire at 11:10pm.

There were no injuries or casualties reported.

A 30-year-old man has been detained for his suspected involvement in the case.

Police investigations are ongoing.
