South Korea is in the thick of an increasingly serious Covid-19 outbreak.
Its authorities have just announced 256 more confirmed patients on Friday (Feb. 28) morning.
This brings the total to 2,022 cases. Most of the new cases were from Daegu.
Here's a breakdown of the cases by region, according to a local reporter:
One result of this spike in cases is the shortage of hospital beds that is likely to plague multiple parts of South Korea, especially the smaller cities and worse-hit regions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, out of 1,017 confirmed Covid-19 patients in Daegu, only 447 were by Friday morning admitted to hospitals. The rest are waiting for beds while in self-quarantine at home.
