The leaders led a silent prayer together for the victims of the Wuhan coronavirus and prayed for the healthcare professionals on the frontlines.

In his speech, IRO President Venerable Seck Kwang Phing also asked members to pray for people around the world to be united in overcoming this difficult situation.

At the same time, Seck reminded everyone to practise the necessary precautions and be mindful of information being spread online, being careful not to spread false information or making light of the events of this medical emergency.

Seck said:

“In Singapore, let us remember to uphold our values and our commitment to safeguard our racial and religious harmony in times of crisis. Let us show care and concern for everyone, regardless of who they are and where they come from - this virus knows no nationality, no race, no religion.”
