Kristina Shramko, a 21-year-old Canadian citizen, is currently trapped in Wuhan with the city under lockdown.

The lockdown was imposed on Jan. 23, and Shramko had the opportunity to evacuate and return to Canada.

However, she chose to stay behind, because her cat would not be allowed back to Canada on the chartered plane.

"I don't think I'm going back. I can't abandon her," she said.

Here are photos of her cat:

Business Insider reported that Shramko moved to Wuhan to be with her boyfriend, who lives in Wuhan, about eight months before the coronavirus outbreak began.

Her boyfriend was on a business trip when the city shut down, and could not return.

Currently, she has been living in her loft alone for around a month.

Life under lockdown

As for her life under lockdown, Shramko said that she has been mostly filming and editing videos for her YouTube channel, or watching movies and shows.

On Jan. 31, she uploaded a YouTube video talking about her life under lockdown. She said that the shops and malls are mostly closed, and described how the city is really quiet.

She also assured everyone that she is well.
