India's international airports have started screening passengers from Singapore and Thailand. This is in addition to previous screening measures implemented on passengers from China and Hong Kong.
This comes after a review meeting on the preparedness for management of novel Coronavirus with senior officers of the Indian government.
Prior to the extension of the screening process, 52,332 passengers from 326 flights had been screened at its 21 airports. Out of this, a total of 97 travellers with symptoms had been identified and referred to isolation facilities.
India currently has three confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with all three from the state of Kerala.
In a video conference reviewing the processes of screening passengers from different countries, it was decided that passengers coming in on flights from Singapore or Thailand will also be universally screened.
In addition to the screening measures, here are some other visa restrictions India has set out with respect to travel to and from China.
