Cherry blossom season is supposed to be around mid-March to April, but in some areas of Japan, the seasonal bloom has started.
Japan’s cherry blossoms usually appear in February or March in Okinawa, southern Japan, before moving north to Hokkaido by early May.
The blooming of bright cherry blossoms, otherwise known as Sakura, coincides with spring.
Places like Okinawa were already seeing cherry blossoms in full bloom by early February.
