92 Singaporeans returned to Singapore from Wuhan on Thursday (Jan. 30) morning, accompanied by consular officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The 92 Singaporeans arrived via Scoot flight TR 121.
Returning Singaporeans will be quarantined
According to an MFA statement, the returning Singaporeans will undergo medical screening upon arrival at Changi Airport.
Those with fever or respiratory symptoms will be taken to designated hospitals for further examination, while the remaining passengers, including the MFA consular officers, will be quarantined for 14 days.
However in a question and answer after a technical briefing on Jan. 30, Lawrence Wong, co-chair of the Wuhan virus task force, revealed that some Singaporeans could not be brought back to Singapore because they already showed symptoms of the Wuhan virus.
Wong said to be on the safe side, these Singaporeans will be quarantined back in Wuhan. The Singapore embassy will be in touch with all of them.
While there are no numbers on how many are still there, the ones that have come back will be quarantined in government quarantine facilities.
