There's a trend on YouTube called the IKEA challenge.

Basically YouTubers will try hiding in some part of IKEA until the store closes. Then they will come out after opening hours and theoretically have IKEA all to themselves.

On October 30, 2019, YouTuber Max Lee, son of Taiwanese actor Lee Hsing-Wen, embarked on that very challenge.

While some of his overnight-IKEA predecessors did a few somersaults and screaming, Lee took a more extreme tone in his approach to the challenge.

So he basically snuck into the store in Taipei's Xinzhuang district and hid near the checkout area till everyone left.

He then took advantage of the emptiness of the store to do all these things.

According to this Instagram post by UDNStars, he pretended to masturbate as well.

And more.

IKEA responds

His video received an overwhelmingly negative reaction from the public, with many highlighting the childishness and petulance it took to conceptualise the video, execute it, edit and publish it without once thinking it was a bad idea.

Some even called on the police to take action.

And they have.

According to Taiwan News, IKEA pressed charges after the video went viral. The Xinzhuang police is treating the incident as a case of "obscenity and trespassing" and are investigating the case.

Here is the full video.

Yikes.
