A Causeway Link bus driver was seen using his phone and leaning on the steering wheel while on a drive from Malaysia to Singapore at the Second Link.

Videos of the incident were shared in a now-deleted post on the Facebook group Complaint Singapore.

In a 32-second clip, the bus driver could be seen tapping away on his phone with his arms laid across the steering wheel.

According to the user who shared the clips, the bus was travelling from Malaysia's Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ Complex to Singapore's Tuas Checkpoint at the time.

The driver appeared to make slight adjustments to the steering wheel using his elbows.

He only placed his phone down on the dashboard at about the 30-second mark of the clip.

In another 22-second clip, the driver was back on his phone and in the same position, with his arms lying across the steering wheel.

He could be observed making larger adjustments to the steering wheel.

The bus appeared to be entering Tuas Checkpoint at the time.

Responding to Mothership's queries on Jun. 11, a staff on Causeway Link's team said: "We would like to sincerely apologise for the concern caused regarding this incident, and we truly understand the importance of road safety and public confidence in our services."

The staff shared that the case has been escalated to its operations team for "thorough investigation and necessary action".

"We take this matter seriously and are committed to addressing it appropriately," the staff added.
