A woman in Malaysia jumped out of a moving e-hailing car in Klang, an incident that was caught on video and later circulated online.

She later told police she acted out of fear, claiming the driver had been “watching” her during the ride.

Passenger suddenly opens door and jumps out mid-journey

In the clip, the car is seen travelling along a road near Taman Eng Ann in Klang.

About 30 seconds in, the passenger door suddenly swings open, and a woman leaps out while the vehicle is still moving.

She tumbles onto the road, with her shoes and belongings scattering across the street.

A motorcyclist is seen stopping to assist as she quickly gets back on her feet and gathers her items.

She later returns briefly to the car, appearing to confront the driver, together with another passenger.

Driver was transporting 2 passengers at the time

According to New Straits Times (NST), the incident occurred at around 9am on May 1.

North Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner S. Vijaya Rao said the driver, a 47-year-old local man, was transporting two passengers when the woman suddenly opened the door and jumped out while the car was still moving.

“The driver was transporting two passengers when one of them, a woman seated at the rear right, suddenly opened the door and jumped out while the vehicle was still in motion,” he said in a statement.

The driver stopped immediately and found that the woman had sustained minor injuries.

Woman claimed she feared for her safety

The woman later told police she acted out of anxiety and concern for her safety.

She alleged that the driver had been observing her through the rear-view mirror without clear reason.

“The passenger claimed she acted out of anxiety and concern for her safety, alleging that the driver had been observing her through the rear-view mirror without clear reason,” Vijaya Rao said.

Following the incident, the driver cancelled the trip and, with the help of a motorcyclist, the woman was taken to a nearby clinic for treatment.

Police investigating case

The driver later lodged a police report as a precautionary measure.

Police are also attempting to trace the woman to assist with investigations.
