US man, 23, allegedly defrauded Chick-fil-A of S$101,876 through mac & cheese refunds
Arrested.
A former Chick-fil-A employee in Texas, U.S., was charged with allegedly defrauding the fast-food company of over US$80,000 (S$101,875.60) in mac-and-cheese refunds.
The ex-employee, identified as 23-year-old Keyshun Jones, apparently processed refunds for roughly 800 trays of mac-and-cheese to his personal credit cards, New York Times reported.
Previously fired
Jones was previously fired from the Chick-fil-A store in Grapevine, outside Dallas, in November 2025.
In CCTV footage released, Jones was seen returning to the store on the night of Nov. 28, 2025, and standing at an unattended touch-screen cash register.
Jones was wearing a brown puffer vest, blue jeans and a backwards white cap.
He was not dressed in the chain’s employee uniform.
Jones allegedly used the cash register to process the mac-and-cheese orders and then issued refunds to his personal credit cards.
The transaction totalled just over US$80,000 (S$101,875.60).
Arrest
According to Fox 4, the police were alerted to the fraud after the owner of the store reported it.
Jones apparently evaded arrest despite multiple attempts to locate him.
He was arrested on Apr. 17.
Jones was charged with offences relating to property theft, money laundering and evading arrest.
According to Chick-fil-A menu and prices, Mac & Cheese in U.S. costs around U$4.15 (S$5.29) for a small, U$7.79 (S$9.92) for a medium, and U$9.95 (S$12.67) for a large serving as of 2025.
