After 26 years of bringing "winter" to Singapore, Snow City will be closing on Sep. 30, 2026.

The closure "reflects the Science Centre Board (SCB)'s commitment to keeping its offerings fresh and relevant amidst shifting visitor interests and an evolving attractions landscape", the Science Centre said in a May 19 press release.

The decision also aligns with SCB's science education mission and future plans.

Farewell

The public is invited to bid farewell to Snow City from June to September, during the "One Last Snowfall" campaign.

Visitors during this period will enjoy limited-time experiences and offers.

They include a package offering one hour of snow play and a bumper car ride, at S$19 for adults and S$16 for children (30 per cent off the usual price of S$27 and S$23 respectively).

More details on the farewell campaign will be shared in the coming weeks, through Snow City’s and Science Centre Singapore’s websites and official social media channels.

Staff support

The staff at Snow City will be supported closely through this transition, the Science Centre said.

There are currently eight full-time staff employed at Snow City, and they have been offered redeployment opportunities within SCB.

For employees who choose to pursue opportunities elsewhere, SCB will provide outplacement assistance and severance support in accordance with applicable employment terms and prevailing Ministry of Manpower guidelines.

Snow City will also honour its contractual obligations to all vendors.
