Two Singaporean men were fined RM1,000 (S$318) each and ordered to perform six hours of community service for littering in a public place.

The community service will have to be completed within six months.

The court further ruled that they would face one month's jail if they did not pay the fine.

According to New Straits Times, the two men are architect Lim Hu Shen, and project manager, Tan Boon How.

They are both 38.

The two pleaded guilty after charges were read to them in Mandarin.

The Star reported that the offence involved throwing cigarette butts in a public area instead of into a waste bin, which was committed at the entrance of KSL City Mall on Jan. 3, 2026.
