A youth in Singapore lost his temper after reporting his lost wallet and passport.

Fan Guangyao, 18, lost his temper after being told to go to the Chinese embassy for a passport replacement.

According to The Straits Times, Fan had lost his wallet and passport at Changi Airport.

He then went to the Airport Police Division at 35 Airport Boulevard.

ST said the officer there then told him to approach the Chinese embassy for a passport replacement.

According to court documents, Fan then started "shouting loudly and gesticulating in an agitated manner".

He also scratched and pushed an officer.

According to a police statement cited by ST, an officer placed his hand on Fan's shoulder and asked him to calm down.

In a statement on Apr. 6, a police spokesperson said: “An officer attempted to de-escalate the situation by placing his hand on Fan’s shoulder and asking him to calm down."

Fan, however, slammed his hand on the table and continued shouting at the officers.

He was arrested after he scratched the officer.

ST reported that Fan was sentenced to six weeks' jail.
