Sheng Siong CEO's salary increased by 13.5% to S$8.02 million in 2025

The salary of Sheng Siong's chief executive officer (CEO), Lim Hock Chee, increased by 13.5 per cent from S$7.609 million in 2024 to S$8.02 million in 2025.

The Sheng Siong group's core executives are the Lim brothers Hock Eng, Hock Chee and Hock Leng; Hock Eng's daughter, Lin Ruiwen, is also an executive director.

According to the group's annual report for 2025, released on Apr. 6, the director's remuneration could be broken down into salary, variable bonus, director's fees, and benefits in kind.

Hock Chee's base salary was S$375,000, with a bonus of S$7.609 million, a director's fee of S$20,000, and benefits in kind of S$16,000.

All three brothers received a salary increase of about 13.5 per cent.

According to the report, Sheng Siong has 87 stores in Singapore and six stores in China.

The data was tabulated from figures for the financial year (FY) that ended on Dec. 31, 2025.

In the chairman's statement, Hock Eng said that despite the uncertain global macroeconomic outlook, tariffs, trade war developments and shifting supply chains, the company had remained resilient.

"The group delivered revenue of S$1.57 million in FY2025, marking a 9.9 per cent year-on-year increase. This growth was mainly supported by contributions of 12 new stores opened during the year."

The supermarket chain also noted a gross profit margin of 31.3 per cent in 2025.

"Despite elevated operating costs, the group’s net profit rose by 8.5 per cent to S$149.2 million."

Executive director renumerations

Sheng Siong's chairman, Hock Eng, received a base of S$300,000, S$7.609 million in bonuses, S$20,000 in director's fees and S$28,000 in benefits in kind.

Hock Eng's total salary in 2025 was 7.957 million, up from S$7.013 million in 2024.

The group's managing director, Hock Leng, was paid a base of S$305,000, S$7.609 million in bonuses, S$20,000 in director's fees and S$12,000 in benefits in kind.

Hock Leng's total salary in 2025 was S$7.946 million, an increase from S$7 million in 2024.

The firm's executive director, Ruiwen, took home a base of S$315,000, S$387,000 in bonuses and S$20,000 in director's fees.

Ruiwen's total salary in 2025 was S$722,000, up by 26.6 per cent from S$570,000 in 2024.
