S'porean man, 26, pleads guilty to filming 3 boys, aged 9-15, defecating in toilet
He is a repeat offender.
A 26-year-old Singaporean man pleaded guilty on Apr. 1 after he recorded three underage boys defecating in toilets.
According to CNA, Ezekiel Isaiah Tee Xu Jie was caught while being employed as a student care teacher.
He was previously convicted of voyeurism and was on remission after his prison release in April 2025.
The specific locations and details identifying the victims cannot be disclosed due to a gag order.
Checked victims' legs from under the cubicle door to confirm their ages
Upon his release from prison, Tee was hired as a part-time student care teacher in July 2025.
On Aug. 2, he went to the toilet after attending an evening mass at a church.
He then filmed a boy under the age of 14, who was defecating in one of the cubicles, from an adjacent cubicle after looking at the boy's legs to ascertain his age.
On Aug. 8, Tee left his class while working at the student care centre to film another boy after getting "an urge to observe young boys defecating".
He checked the legs of a boy who went to the toilet and also recorded him.
On Aug. 13, Tee repeated his acts and filmed another boy, 11, who was defecating.
He was caught red-handed when the boy looked up and saw Tee's phone pointed at him.
Tee promptly retracted his phone and went to the urinal.
The boy quickly finished up and later reported the incident to his teacher.
A police report was lodged and Tee was arrested on the same day.
Officers also seized his phone.
Did it for his "own pleasure"
Tee admitted that he committed these acts for his "own pleasure" and that he felt "excited" watching young boys defecating.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of voyeurism while two additional charges will be taken into consideration during his sentencing.
This marks Tee's fourth conviction for voyeurism-related crimes.
The deputy public prosecutor (DPP) sought a sentence of 33 to 40 months' imprisonment, plus caning, and an additional 32 to 49 days for reoffending while on remission.
He said Tee had "increased the frequency and severity of his offending significantly with each conviction, and has now reoffended with a vengeance".
The DPP also described Tee as a "menace to the community" who exploited "safe spaces" intended for education and worship.
Tee's lawyer said the accused had utilised a "very wrong coping mechanism" and required guidance.
However, the judge highlighted that this was Tee's second conviction as an adult.
His sentencing has been adjourned until the end of April 2026.
If found guilty, he may be jailed for up to two years, and fined or caned.
