After beating Bangladesh 1-0, the Singapore men's national football team ended its Asian Cup qualifiers undefeated.
This means the Lions qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2027, the first time the team has qualified for the Asian Cup on merit.
Following the victory, a fundraising page was launched on Giving.sg by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) to raise S$500,000 to support the men's national football team's preparation for the Asian Cup.

According to the page, it said the donations will play a "key role in maintaining the standards behind the badge".
It will support the "preparation, development and pathways to help our teams thrive, from young players starting out to the Lions competing at the highest level".
The page added that Singapore's qualification for the Asian Cup was a "major milestone that reflects years of hard work, discipline and belief."
"This moment belongs to everyone who believes in the game. It's a foundation we can build on together."
Currently, only S$330 has been donated by six donors.

In response to Mothership's queries, an FAS spokesperson stated that the Giving.sg initiative is just one way for supporters to contribute to Singapore football.
"While support for the game comes from across our partners, stakeholders, and the wider ecosystem, this moment presents a meaningful opportunity for the community to rally behind the team as they prepare for the Asian Cup and beyond," said the spokesperson.
"Ultimately, what matters most is the collective belief and support of Singaporeans as we continue to build a strong and sustainable future for the sport together."
Development of Singapore football
This fundraising initiative comes after FAS president Forrest Li announced that his company, Sea, will be donating S$50 million to the development of Singapore football.
Speaking at the FAS Sponsors and Partners Appreciation Ceremony, Li said that S$10 million has already been donated to FAS in early 2026.
The remaining S$40 million will go toward initiatives to improve Singapore's national team performance, youth development and football infrastructure.
Li added that Sea will work closely with the government and the football community in deploying the funds.
Li believes that this is the largest corporate donation to Singapore football, but encouraged others to show their support and contribute.
