Three lanes affected, congestion stretched kilometres

Several police vehicles and an Expressway Monitoring and Advisory System (EMAS) recovery vehicle were also seen at the scene.
In a post on X at about 6:53pm, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) advised motorists to avoid lanes 2 and 3 following the accident.
In a later update at 8:10pm, LTA said motorists should avoid lane 1 as well, adding that congestion had stretched to Lower Delta Road.
The jam reportedly lasted several hours, according to road users on the SGRoad Blocks Telegram channel.
Bus services delayed due to accident
The accident also disrupted several bus services travelling along the affected stretch of the expressway.
In a Facebook post at about 8pm, Tower Transit Singapore said services 97 and 963 experienced longer waiting times because of the congestion.
About 25 minutes later, SBS Transit said services 14, 33, 166, 197 and 198 were also delayed.
Services 197 and 198 were temporarily diverted and skipped nine bus stops before operations gradually returned to normal later that night, the operator added.
