Two men, both aged 21, and one woman, 24, who barricaded themselves inside a Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat in Jurong East following an alleged assault and robbery on Apr. 3, were arrested after a nearly two-hour stand-off.

The incident occurred at around 10:10pm.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the situation deescalated after the parents of one of the men returned home to their fourth-floor unit at Block 262 Jurong East Street 24 and unlocked the door.

The suspects had allegedly robbed and assaulted a person at the foot of a nearby block before fleeing to the unit.

One of the arrested man apparently had a prior criminal record, Shin Min reported.

According to the police, the trio were believed to have allegedly caused voluntary hurt while committing robbery.

Officers from the Special Operations Command, Crisis Negotiation Unit and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were deployed to the scene.

Car park below the block cordoned off

The three suspects had locked themselves in the flat after they allegedly committed a crime.

The car park area below the block was cordoned off.

One resident said one of the male suspects had attempted to remove an exhaust fan in the unit's bathroom.

One man allegedly became "agitated" during arrest

Police eventually gained entry into the unit at around 11:40pm on Friday night.

One of the arrested men was witnessed to have become agitated and put up a struggle with the police during his arrest.

He was eventually subdued.

The man was later seen speaking to his parents through the car window.

His mother reportedly told bystanders that her son had banged his head against the police car window from the inside.

The trio were seen being escorted away from the scene in separate vehicles.

It was later revealed that the woman who was arrested was in a relationship with one of the two men.

The other man who was arrested was their friend.

The police were seen leaving the scene at around 12:30am.
