M'sia driver, 42, sleepless for days as horrific moment motorcyclist landed on his car kept replaying in his mind
The driver of the blue car was not at fault, but was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
A driver in Malaysia had been haunted for days by the image of a motorcyclist, who was killed in a Klang drink-driving crash on Sunday, Mar. 29, just before noon.
The motorcyclist was hit by a car going against the flow of traffic.
The rider, who was thrown into the air, happened to land on top of the blue Perodua Myvi driven by a 42-year-old man.
The incident, along Jalan Raya Barat, had left the Myvi driver, who was not at fault, sleepless for days, Kosmo reported.
Replayed in mind
The witness, who identified himself as Megan, said the incident had been replaying in his mind.
He was unable to sleep over the past few days.
He was driving his Perodua Myvi with a friend towards Port Klang at the time.
“I haven’t been able to sleep at night. Every time I close my eyes, the incident reappears. I can still picture the victim’s hand hanging limp over my windscreen. Even now, I am in shock whenever I think about it,” he told Kosmo.
As everything had occurred very quickly, he initially thought his vehicle was unaffected.
He said: “I thought the car hadn’t hit anything. Then, I suddenly realised there was someone on the roof when I saw the victim’s hand dangling over the driver’s side of the glass."
“In a panic, I slowed down to ensure the victim didn’t fall onto the road. In my mind, the damage to the car didn’t matter; what mattered was his life,” he added.
The victim no longer showed signs of life upon stopping.
The blue Myvi was impounded by the police and was not covered by comprehensive insurance.
“I feel sad knowing the victim has a family and young children. One person’s mistake has caused suffering for many and I am also deeply affected,” Megan added.
