A 46-year-old man in Singapore was arrested for allegedly driving while drunk on Apr. 3.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said they were alerted to a hit-and-run accident involving a car and a motorcycle along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 towards Hougang Avenue 2 at around 12:40am.

Driver drove away from scene

A video circulating online showed the aftermath of the incident.

Three men were seen approaching another person on the ground near a fallen motorcycle.

One man wearing a white top and light-coloured pants appeared to have been engaged in an exchange with others, before returning to his car.

The car was facing in the opposite direction on the road seemingly against the flow of traffic.

After the man got into the car, he drove off.

The left side of the vehicle was visibly damaged and smoke was seen coming out of its bonnet.

The car collided with road barriers as it attempted to leave the scene.

Motorcyclist sent to hospital

SPF and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that a 38-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state.

Police said the driver had left the scene before officers arrived.

The man was subsequently arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police investigations are ongoing.
