SIA issues advisory, cancels flights to Middle East after airstrikes in the region
Flights SQ494 and SQ495 departing to and from Dubai would be cancelled for the week.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has issued an advisory regarding the cancellation of flights to and from Dubai from Feb. 28 to Mar. 7, 2026.
This comes amid airstrikes across the Middle East fired by the U.S., Israel and Iran.
On Mar. 1, 2026, at around 2pm, SIA took to X to share updates and "apologise to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused".
Flights SQ494 and SQ495 departing to and from Dubai would be cancelled for the week "due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East".
In a Straits Times article, it is said that a total of 16 flights are affected.
Two Jeddah flights by Scoot, TR596 and TR597, have also been cancelled.
SIA said that "as the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected" and directed customers to their Flight Status page for the latest information and updates on their flights.
