Dubai Airport, Burj Al Arab hotel damaged in Iranian retaliatory strikes against US & Israel
Iran targeted missiles at Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha, key east-west aviation gateways, in response to the US-Israel airstrikes.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) and the iconic sailboat-shaped hotel, Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, have suffered damages in Iranian retaliatory attacks.
The attacks spread across the Middle East, reaching beyond U.S. bases and interests, reported Reuters.
The attacks left four staff members injured at the world's busiest airport, according to an X post by the Dubai Media Office on Mar. 1.
The media office confirmed that a concourse in the airport sustained minor damage, which was "quickly contained", and that most of the terminals were previously cleared of passengers due to contingency plans.

Fallout from overnight Iranian attacks
The Dubai Media Office also confirmed that "a drone was intercepted and debris caused a minor fire on Burj Al Arab's outer facade".
Civil defence teams responded to the incident, and no injuries were reported.
Burj Al Arab, an iconic symbol of the United Arab Emirates, was opened in 1999 on an artificial island, projecting the emirate's vision of luxury travel.

Reuters reported that the overnight Iranian attacks also caused one fatality involving an Asian national and seven injuries at Zayed International Airport in the UAE's capital, according to a now-deleted X post.
Debris from aerial interceptions also caused a fire at a berth at Dubai's Jebel Ali Port in a separate X statement.
