Couple found dead in Punggol flat: Man, 71, & wife, 66, reportedly had health issues
The couple reportedly had the same illness.
The couple, who were found dead in a Northshore Drive flat in Punggol on Feb. 27, were both apparently ill before they died, neighbours claimed.
The man was also allegedly depressed and once told friends and relatives he was worried that he would leave his wife by herself in the event he died.
Man was noticeably ill
Neighbours told Shin Min Daily News that they were privy to the man's apparent ill health as he sometimes appeared to be unwell.
He was also apparently seen struggling to stand sometimes.
The man's wife allegedly once revealed to a neighbour that her husband was ill, though she did not specify the illness, the neighbour told Shin Min.
The man reportedly also confided in friends and relatives about his worries regarding his wife's future, as they both apparently had the same condition.
Deaths
The couple were reported to have been married for 47 years and even ran a shipping business together.
Neighbours said they appeared to have a good relationship with other residents, as they would typically greet them when they met.
Their deaths were discovered when relatives visited the couple in the morning and realised something was amiss.
When police responded to the incident, the flat was apparently found covered in blood, and the couple were found in the living room.
According to Shin Min reporters who visited the scene, bloodstains could be seen on the wooden door of the house.
Both husband and wife were reportedly found with wounds caused by a sharp object.
The case is being investigated as unnatural deaths.
The couple's godson was seen being comforted by police officers outside the unit when he arrived to check if the deceased were his godparents.
He said he had showed up when he saw the news about the incident and felt something was not right as he recognised the block and floor.
8world reported the deceased couple are survived by their son and daughter.
