Israel launches 'pre-emptive strike' against Iran, declares state of emergency

Israel has launched a "pre-emptive strike" against Iran, said Israeli defence minister Israel Katz on Saturday, Feb. 28.
A state of emergency has also been declared across Israel.
The government expects Iran to retaliate with drones and ballistic missiles, reported CNN.

The strike reportedly took place near the offices of Ali Khamenei, supreme leader of Iran, reported AP.
The United States is also reportedly involved in the Israeli strikes against Iran, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the operation.
