A deep sense of relief: Baey Yam Keng's MRI comes out clear after CT scans showed 'abnormality' on nose
Wishing him good health.
Baey Yam Keng is in good health four years after a successful cancer treatment.
Baey was diagnosed with Stage 1 nose cancer in November 2021 after a regular eye check for glaucoma.
After treatment, his cancer went into remission in 2022.
Baey's doctor, however, warned that "the cancer might still return any time".
In a social media post on Mar. 28, Baey said he had been going for annual scans following his radiation therapy to ensure everything is fine.
He shared that, in late December, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) scans showed a small abnormality on the right side of his nose.
His oncologist believed it might be linked to a flu he had caught during a recent trip, but referred him to an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist as a precaution.
Everything clear
In February, a scope examination showed nothing concerning, Baey wrote.
However, to be certain, he underwent an MRI in March.
He received the results two days ago, which showed that everything was clear.
"While the uncertainty over the past few months didn’t weigh on me too much, I definitely felt a deep sense of relief hearing the good news," Baey said.
"Happy to share that my post-cancer health is good for now. I’ll continue to take care and not take things for granted."
