S'pore man, 63, arrested for loanshark harassment after 'first warning' post-it note on Choa Chu Kang unit

The police have arrested a 63-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of loanshark harassment.
On Feb. 24, 2026, at about 6:40pm, the police were alerted to a case of loanshark harassment at a residential unit along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 7, where a debtor's note was pasted on the wall.
With the aid of images from police cameras, officers from the Jurong division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Mar. 10, 2026.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he is believed to be involved in other cases of loanshark harassment islandwide.
The man will be charged in court on Mar. 12, 2026, under the Moneylenders Act 2008.
For first-time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with imprisonment of up to five years, and caning of up to six strokes.
