Man allegedly caught on CCTV checking out S$1,500 bicycle outside Yishun flat, steals it next day
The bike is worth around S$1,500.
A man was caught on surveillance camera allegedly checking out a bicycle on the third floor of a block at Melody Spring @ Yishun on Mar. 10.
He allegedly returned the next day to cut the bike lock and steal the bicycle.
Unbeknownst to him, his actions were caught on CCTV footage.
The bike owner, Daru Dhaliwal, told Mothership that the bicycle was worth around S$1,500.
He has since lodged a police report.
The police confirmed with Mothership that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.

According to CCTV footage, a man wearing a black t-shirt and beige cap could be seen walking past and glancing at two bicycles at the corner of a lift landing.
This took place on Mar. 10 at about 7:22pm.
"When he noticed my doorbell camera, he quickly turned away and walked towards the neighbouring unit’s area before leaving via the lift," Daru said.
Footage also showed the man appearing to take a photo of the bicycle.

On Mar. 11 at around 2:06am, a man wearing a hoodie appeared and cut the bicycle lock.
He then walked off briefly before coming back to grab the bicycle and running off with it.
Daru said the man, believed to be the same person who showed up outside his door the day before, was wearing glasses with dark frames, as well as black Nike shoes.
He urged residents in the area to remain vigilant and to secure their bicycles and belongings.
He also asked anyone with information on the person or incident to contact him via Instagram.
