Two horses were spotted trotting casually around Pasir Ris on the morning of Mar. 3.

In multiple videos shared by Pasir Ris residents, the equines could be seen heading down a park connector, passing by cars on the road, and finally being taken into custody.

In one video submitted by a Mothership reader, a man could be heard telling a brown horse to "stay" as it strolled down the road at Elias View.

"Slowly, slowly. Come here," he said, as the horse walked onto the road.

He then remarked that he "hoped to bring [the horse] in".

Another Mothership reader, who gave her name as Salva, said she spotted a horse at around 11:40am at a landed estate in Pasir Ris.

It seemed scared, neighing and walking in circles, she recalled.

Her neighbour then called the police, which directed the escapees back to their stables.

The brown horse was later seen surrounded by police cars and uniformed officers, with a red rope around its neck.

Mothership understands that the horses had escaped from Gallop Stable in Pasir Ris Park.

Police's reply

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that it had received a call for assistance at around 11:20am.

"Officers responded promptly and worked with stable staff to safely secure the horses.

The horses were subsequently returned to their stables without incident."

Jessica Kwok, group director at the Animal Veterinary Service, confirmed that they are aware of the incident.

"The two horses have since been secured by handlers from Gallop Stable. AVS is investigating the incident," she said.

In the event that a member of the public encounters a horse, remain calm and refrain from approaching or chasing it, AVS advised.

You can also call NPark's 24-hour Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600 for assistance.
