5 S'poreans arrested for drug offences, S$243,451 in cash, luxury watches, vehicles & 1,284 vape pods seized

Five Singaporeans, four men and one woman, were recently arrested for suspected drug offences following an anti-drug operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Feb. 25, 2026 and Feb. 26, 2026.

According to a Mar. 2, 2026 CNB news release, the operation also saw various items being seized.

These include:

  • Numerous vape-related products, including 1,284 e-vaporiser pods and nine e-vaporisers

    believed to contain etomidate

  • Cash, including over S$200,000, and small amounts of foreign currencies
  • High luxury watches
  • Three vehicles

Feb. 25, 2026

This comes after CNB officers, who were acting on information received, arrested a 36-year-old Singaporean man in the vicinity of Bedok North for suspected drug-related offences on the evening of Feb. 25, 2026.

Since the man put up a violent struggle, necessary force was used to restrain him, the release noted.

This saw 50 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate being seized.

Later on the same evening, CNB officers arrested a 29-year-old Singaporean man at the junction of Sembawang Road and Mandai Avenue for suspected drug-related offences.

Following this, 1,084 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate were seized after the man was escorted to a unit at a self-storage facility in the vicinity of Woodlands Close.

The man's vehicle was subsequently seized.

Luxury watches, cash

In a concurrent operation, CNB officers raided a residential unit located in the vicinity of Miltonia Close, where they arrested a 37-year-old Singaporean man and a 29-year-old Singaporean woman for suspected drug-related offences.

During a search of the unit, the items recovered included:

  • Numerous vape-related products, including 145 e-vaporiser pods and nine e-vaporisers, believed to contain etomidate
  • Cash amounting to S$243,451.35, as well as small amounts of foreign currencies
  • Luxury watches

In addition, two vehicles belonging to the man were seized.

Feb. 26, 2026

CNB officers then raided another residential unit located in the vicinity of Woodlands Drive in the early hours of Feb. 26, 2026 and arrested a 19-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug-related offences.

This saw numerous vape-related products, including five e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate, being seized from the unit.

Investigations into the drug activities of the arrested suspects are ongoing.

Penalties

The release noted that under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, those who import, sell or distribute etomidate-laced evaporisers will face prosecution.

Those involved in the import of etomidate will face a mandatory jail term of at least three years and five strokes of the cane. This can go up to 20 years' imprisonment and 15 strokes of the cane.

Offenders involved in the sale and distribution of etomidate will face between two and 10 years' imprisonment, with between two and five strokes of the cane.
