S'pore condo security guard, 61, calls resident, 14, into guardroom & molests her, gets 5 months 2 weeks' jail
The girl agreed to enter as she was afraid she would get scolded.
A 61-year-old security guard was sentenced to five months and two weeks' jail on Mar. 2 for molesting a 14-year-old girl in the condo's guardroom.
The man had called the girl into the guardroom before pulling her waist towards him and kissing her on her forehead.
Girl entered guardroom out of fear
According to The Straits Times, the girl was walking towards a bus stop on Jun. 19, 2025, at about 1:40pm when the man called out to her.
He cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the victim's identity.
The 61-year-old asked the girl to go into the guardroom, and she complied.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Joel Fun told the court that she did so out of fear of being scolded for having allowed her friends to swim in the pool while not in swimming attire, ST wrote.
She closed the door behind her after entering.
Kissed girl on forehead and touched her back
The guard then asked the girl about her age and if she had any boyfriends.
He then told her she was pretty and pulled her by her waist towards him, causing her to sit on his lap, ST reported.
After the girl stood up, the man moved his face close to hers, ST wrote.
He then kissed her on her forehead.
The girl tilted her head away from the man, "visibly resisting" the man's advances, the prosecutor said.
The man then released his hold, and the girl proceeded to leave the room.
As she was doing so, the man touched her back and right arm, according to ST.
Abused position: Prosecutor
The ordeal, lasting about a minute, left the girl feeling disgusted, the prosecutor told the court.
The 14-year-old reported the incident to the police.
The prosecutor sought a jail term of seven months, stressing that the offender had abused his position as a security guard and outraged the girl's modesty when he was supposed to keep her safe.
The man cannot be caned as he is above 50 years old.
