Thai man, 33, fatally shoots girlfriend, 28, previously showed pattern of extreme jealousy

A 33-year-old man in Thailand fatally shot his girlfriend, Atcharanee Wannathong, before turning the gun on himself.

Police found him with a gunshot wound to the head and barely breathing, Khaosod reported.

The incident took place in in Phrai Bueng district, northeastern Thailand.

According to Atcharanee's father, the man had been with his daughter for about three years, and they had a two-year-old son.

He said the man had shown a pattern of extreme jealousy, and had frequent arguments with his daughter.

He also alleged that the man had previously threatened to kill the entire family if Atcharanee leaves him.

He had previously fired a gun outside the house to intimidate her.

The late woman had tried to distance herself in recent months, the man reportedly called her.

In this case, he had threatened to go to a wedding she was attending.

Atcharanee's friend said the couple had broken up a few years ago after the man allegedly shot at her but missed.

While a police report was filed, they later reconciled and had a child together.
