Thai PM Anutin, 59, marries long-time partner, 39, a day before Valentine's Day
This comes after the elections as well.
Thailand’s Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, registered his marriage with his girlfriend on Feb. 13, a day before Valentine’s Day.
The marriage also comes after Anutin won the recently concluded Thai elections.
His partner, Thananon Niramit, formerly known as Supanan Nirasit, is about 20 years younger than the 59-year-old leader.
Their relationship had previously drawn media attention for highlighting a softer, more personal side of Anutin.
This marks the prime minister’s third marriage.
Love story
Anutin, 59, first met Thananon, 39, when he visited her coffee shop in Ranong province.
While Thananon said she did not initially feel a spark towards the then-health minister, he won her over with his small actions, including asking her about how her mother was.
They dated for two years before making their relationship public to the press in 2022 at the Government House.
Following that, the couple often attended important events together.
According to Khaosod English, Thananon describes the prime minister as a "warm, simple, down-to-earth" person with a sense of humour.

Registered marriage at home
Anutin reportedly invited officials from the Dusit District Office to his private residence to register the marriage.
His daughter, Naiyaphak Charnvirakul, his son, Seranee Charnvirakul, and Unsit Sampuntharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, joined as witnesses.
According to Bangkok Post, Feb. 13, which was a Friday, is considered a highly auspicious day in Thai astrology.
It also coincides with Saturn’s movement out of Leo and Aquarius.
Who is Thananon Niramit?
Thananon, also known affectionately as "Jaa", is a native of Ranong province.
She graduated from Thammasat University and was formerly a drum major for the Chula-Thammasat Traditional Football Match.
A businesswoman who owns the popular "JaJaa Coffee" in Ranong, she has also expanded her business by opening "Jaristaa" in Bangkok.
