Missing Nee Soon resident, 82, found, Shanmugam gives him angbao in hospital
Found after five days.
An 82-year-old man who went missing in Yishun was found on Feb. 6, five days after he was last seen by his family.
He had gone without food and water for those five days, according to his family.
Low is reportedly deaf and non-speaking.
Low Kow, a Nee Soon resident, has since been in a hospital under observation, Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam wrote in a Facebook post.
He is safe and unhurt, the minister added.
Shanmugam previously shared the police's missing person's notice on Low on his Facebook on Feb. 3.
Hospital visit
Shanmugam, who is also Minister of Parliament (MP) for Nee Soon GRC, visited Low in the hospital on Feb. 14.
He gifted Low's family members with a hamper of health goods, a pair of mandarin oranges, and a red packet.
His team had previously given angbaos to every resident in their GRC over the age of 65, but Low was not present that day, Shanmugam explained.
He hoped the red packet would offer good luck.
Before Shanmugam left, the family thanked him for taking the time to support the search for Low and gave him a handwritten card expressing their appreciation.
