TikToker shows off Republic Polytechnic food court's 'sheet'-thin cut fruits
"It's actually giving essence of fruits," he said.
A student at Republic Polytechnic (RP) was shocked by the small portion of the fruits he had purchased from the school's North Food Court.
In a video posted to TikTok by user @iamkikidarling on Feb. 10, he lifted various cut fruits to the camera and said, "I just bought fruits from RP. What the hell is this?"
The caption stated: "Can someone tell me why they are serving us sheets of fruits? It's actually giving essence of fruits."
In the one-minute-long video, the TikToker, who goes by Kiki Darling, displayed various cut fruits in plastic bags, including a slice of honeydew that was so thin, its edges were see-through.

Portion of payaya shorter & narrower than his index finger
"I'm not even, let's take it out", Kiki Darling said as he removed the papaya from the plastic bag and held up the portion using his fingers as a scale of comparison.
The cut of fruit was shorter than his index finger and about two fingers' wide.
Grabbing his friend's watermelon slice, he flipped it to its side to show its thinness.

Off-camera, his friend said, "Show the honeydew, bro", and Kiki did the same with a razor-thin piece of honeydew.
Netizens chimed in
Kiki Darling did not state the cost of the fruits in the video or the comment section.
Mothership also reached out to Kiki Darling for more information, but he declined to respond.
Some suggested that the fruits were priced at 50 cents each.
Others noted that they looked more like samples and opined that 50 cents is "ok" for such a portion.

Others compared the slices to sashimi and said that perhaps the fruit seller was practising his slicing skills.
