The children, accompanied by their teachers, had been going door-to-door in the neighbourhood to meet Chinese families and deliver festive food packets as a gesture of goodwill, reported The Sun Malaysia.

A video of the moment, uploaded on TikTok by Pasti Al Falah Limbongan, showed the pupils crowding around the elderly man, warmly greeting him as they handed him food parcels and shook his hand.

Emotional reaction touches viewers online

In the clip, the man appeared deeply moved by the visit, briefly trying to compose himself before breaking down in tears. He waved to the children before retreating back into his house.

The TikTok post was accompanied by a short caption expressing hopes for his wellbeing, reading: “We pray uncle stays healthy.”

The video quickly gained attention on social media, with many viewers saying they were equally touched and saddened by the scene.

Other commenters urged those living nearby to drop by for a visit, bring him small gifts, or even help decorate his home for Chinese New Year.

Neighbours say elderly man is often seen alone

Several netizens, who claimed to live in the same housing area, also shared that they frequently noticed the elderly man sitting outside his home by himself.

A user wrote that he often sees the uncle alone, appearing lost in thought and possibly missing his children.

Another user also said the man regularly sits in front of his house and waves whenever children pass by, suggesting he may be longing for company.
