SM Lee & Ho Ching spotted watching busker's performance at Rainforest Wild Asia
Guest-of-honour.
A local street performer got a pleasant surprise when he spotted an unexpected face in the crowd — Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
SM Lee was seen with his wife, Ho Ching, at Rainforest Wild Asia in Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
Busker Bryan Wong, known online as @brylights, posted a video on Feb. 14 of himself hyping up the audience before zooming in on SM Lee and his entourage.
The senior minister was seen smiling and waving at the camera.
He was flanked by two bodyguards and appeared to be there with his grandchildren.
Wong told Mothership the encounter took place on Valentine's Day at about 2:20pm.

Nervous while performing
In a subsequent video, Wong, who performs circus acts, shared footage of himself doing a Cyr wheel routine.
He said he first noticed SM Lee while addressing the audience and was stunned when he realised who it was.
Wong added that he was unsure whether to acknowledge SM Lee, but decided to do so after others picked up on his reaction.
He tried to treat the former prime minister like any other audience member, though he managed to slip in a light-hearted joke: “Sir, you’re really cool, but this is still my show.”
Coincidentally, Wong had chosen that day to perform with his larger wheel instead of the smaller one he usually uses.
The bigger wheel weighs about 3kg more, and he admitted that the added weight left him more fatigued and prone to mistakes during the performance.
“It was so horrible, but other than that, it was a really fun experience,” Wong said with a laugh.
Wong told Mothership he is a full-time busker, and performs every weekend and any weekdays he can.
