The first Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Train arrived in Woodlands North Station on the afternoon of Feb. 4, 2026 for its scheduled train demonstration.

Announcing its arrival via a Facebook post, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said this "marks another major milestone in our journey towards seamless cross-border travel".

End-2026

LTA added: "With final preparations underway, we're on track for the RTS Link to begin operations by end-2026."

This means commuters can look forward to a swift five-minute journey between Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru and Woodlands North in Singapore.

Each train will be able to carry more than 600 passengers, with a peak capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour per direction.

At launch, the service is expected to operate with eight trains, with the shortest interval between trains being about 3.6 minutes.

The first trains are set to depart from each end of the line at 6am, while the last trains will leave at midnight.

This comes after the Johor Bahru–Singapore RTS Link project team had previously successfully completed its first train dynamic run on the RTS Link mainline, marking a significant milestone for the cross-border rail project.
