A bowl was hurled and smashed in front of a stall, according to a witness.
A scuffle broke out between two men at the Koufu food court in the Toa Payoh HDB Hub, alarming diners and prompting the police to be called.
The dispute, which happened around 2 pm on Jan. 3, was allegedly over a wad of tissue paper.
The manager of the Koufu told Shin Min Daily News that an uncle and a couple were sharing a table at the time, and got into a verbal altercation.
According to a stall employee, a bunch of tissue paper used by the uncle somehow dropped into the man's bowl, sparking the argument.
Diners saw the two men push and shove each other afterwards.
A bowl was hurled and smashed in front of a stall, frightening another stall employee.
"During the scuffle, there were grains of rice that flew and landed on other diners," the manager said. "But no one was hurt."
By the time the police arrived, both parties had already left the food court, he added.
In response to Mothership's queries, the police confirmed that a report was lodged about the incident, and they are looking into the matter.
