Another Singapore-registered car in Malaysia has been receiving attention for the wrong reasons.

Facebook user Amirul Syafiq reported that he saw what appears to be a Singapore-registered car at a petrol station in Changloon, Kedah, right before the Thai border.

This apparently happened at around 11:15pm on Jan. 3.

The driver allegedly reached for the subsidised RON95 petrol nozzle.

According to Sinchew, a staff noticed the man and stopped him, to which the driver allegedly said "Sabah, Sabah", supposedly in an attempt to mislead the staff into thinking that the car is registered in Malaysia.

In Sabah, the vehicle registration plates start with the letter "S".

However, the staff stopped him, and the driver apparently proceeded to fuel his car with RON97 fuel instead.

The car then headed towards Thailand.

According to Amirul, a few things gave away the driver's identity, including the in-vehicle unit (IU) at the front of the car.
