M'sia woman, 27, falls to death from 17th floor after alleged argument with boyfriend

A 27-year-old woman in Malaysia fell to her death on Jan. 11, 2026, after allegedly arguing with her boyfriend.
The woman, Chen Shuqian (transliteration), fell from the 17th floor of the apartment complex she lived in, Sin Chew Daily reported, adding that she died instantly.
After reportedly hearing a loud noise around 11:30am, residents found Chen lying on the roof of the fourth floor and immediately called the police.
Argument during trip
This comes after Chen, who is said to have lived in the same unit as her boyfriend, reportedly argued with him, according to Oriental Daily.
Chen had returned home with her younger brother, allegedly had a fight, before reportedly opening the window and falling to her death.
A later picture showed the brother kneeling next to her sister, overcome with grief.
Investigation
Upon receiving the report, police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
China Press reported that following Chen's death, her brother and boyfriend went to the scene to assist police in their investigations.
As of Jan. 11, Chen's body was awaiting transportation to the Penang General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
