Taiwan man asks barber to 'help' cut hair, refuses to pay as he claims haircut voluntary, police called
Not successful.
In a big brain move that fell unbelievably short, a Taiwanese man assumed he had gamed the system with his cunning ways.
According to Taiwan media, the man went into the hairdresser's and asked someone to "help" him cut his hair.
The ingenuity of his plan was predicated on the idea that he had simply put forth a request, with no expectations at all.
The hairdresser, of course, agreed to do this because that's what you are supposed to do in these establishments.
At the conclusion of the haircut, the man walked straight out of the shop.
The befuddled hairstylist then stopped him, asking, rightfully so, what he was doing and to pay the sum of about S$6.20.
The man replied, perhaps with a slight knowing smirk, that the hairdresser had already promised to help him cut his hair, so of course, no money should change hands.
The hairdresser immediately called the police.
The police similarly found the man's line of reasoning unbelievably silly and told the hairdresser that if she wanted to press charges, they would take him to the police station.
The hairdresser, however, relented, saying she did not want to go that far for just that sum of money.
She hoped he would not pull such mental gymnastics in the future.
