A 15-year-old girl from Myanmar, who had her long-term visit pass in Singapore revoked for possessing a Kpod — an e-vaporiser pod with etomidate — is assisting with investigations for the possession of scheduled and offensive weapons, affray and voluntarily causing hurt.

The teenager is the first foreigner to have their Singapore long-term visit pass revoked for possessing a Kpod.

MHA statement

The Ministry of Home Affairs told CNA on Dec. 12 that she is also being investigated for various other offences.

She has since been issued a Special Pass to remain in Singapore to assist with investigations.

Kpods are e-vaporiser pods containing etomidate.

They were classified as a Class C controlled drug since Sep. 1, 2025.

"Following the conclusion of her case with the police, she will be deported and barred from re-entering Singapore," MHA said.

The girl was found to have the Kpod during a routine police check on Nov. 14, the ministry said on Dec. 8.

Penalties

Foreigners may have their pass or immigration status revoked and be deported and banned from re-entering Singapore if they are caught using or possessing Kpods, or test positive for etomidate.

Importers, sellers and distributors of Kpods can be jailed and caned.

Importers can be jailed between three and 20 years and get five to 15 strokes of the cane, while sellers and distributor can be jailed between two and 10 years and get two to five strokes of the cane.
