The end of 2025 also marks the end of business for Teochew Handmade Pau, which will be closing in 2026 after operating for the last time on Dec. 31, 2025.

According to its Facebook page, the hawker stall's closure comes after more than three decades of business since 1993.

"After 32 years of serving the community, it is with deep gratitude and great reluctance that we announce the closure of our pau business," it said.

Challenges

The stall, located at Block 127 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, #02-02, cited challenges that placed increasing pressure on its operations.

Teochew Handmade Pau said that in recent years, this included the continued rise in operating costs, raw materials, and persistent labour challenges.

"Despite our best efforts to adapt, these challenges have made it unsustainable for us to continue at this time," said the business, adding that it made the difficult decision to pause operations after "careful and responsible consideration".

It said that following its last day of business, it would be "closed until further notice".

Appreciation

In light of its closure, it credited its customers' trust, loyalty, and support to have been the foundation of its journey for more than three decades.

"Many of you have supported us across generations, and it has been our greatest honour to serve you and to be part of your everyday moments and family traditions," said Teochew Handmade Pau.

It added: "We extend our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support over the past 32 years.

"Every visit, every kind word, and every shared memory has meant more to us than we can ever express."

Customer reactions

Following its closure notice, customers have expressed disappointment and thanked the business for its nice food.

According to reviews on its Facebook page, customers recommended its Char Siew Pau and Kong Bak Pau to be notable items on the menu.
